Our Story..... how we got started

Ever since I was a child growing up on a small island off the coast of West Africa , I have been fascinated with food and the Art of Cooking. As I got older, experimenting with new flavors, exotic ingredients and spices from all over the world became a passion of mine.

My passion and love for food rose to even greater heights after I left my home town and began living in the United Stated which opened me up to a vast melting pot of cuisines. When I felt homesick, food allowed me to transport myself to my home country or to any part of the world without even leaving my kitchen!

It also challenges me to experiment with new flavors and ingredients that I have never seen nor heard of before. I guess my attitude when it comes to food is to be adventurous and try everything at least once. Tinkering with recipes and ingredients and not knowing if it will be a success or a failure keeps my heart racing and my appetite to learn more insatiable.

On some nights, it would not be unusual for me to be up until 2 am in the morning still trying to perfect a recipe that I thought needed more work - yes, it can turn into a problem! It also brought me to the realization that I needed to be around food all the time. In short, I needed to eat, breath and talk food for the rest of my life.

The best foods that I have eaten in my lifetime were the ones made from pure, simple, fresh and high quality ingredients that allowed the flavors of the natural ingredients to shine through. I strive to keep food as wholesome and nutritious as possible without sacrificing on flavor since the two should always go hand in hand.

On one of my food adventures, I came upon a lesser known spice called Cardamom and it forever changed me and my taste buds- it was love at first sniff! It took my breath away mesmerizing me with its compellingly strong yet sweet, powerful yet delicate aroma - it is one of those spices that once you knew its scent, you recognized it instantly and once you tasted it, nothing could duplicate it! I became completely obsessed with it, almost like it was haunting me: I dreamt about and desired it constantly and when I got it, I could not get enough of it! I realized that I had fallen in love with this spice and wondered how I had managed to live this long without it?

Needless to say, I made up for time lost with this dreamy spice. It got added to everything that I made and was quite astonished at its ability to enhance and bring to life even the most boring foods, quite magical! Hence, I aptly named it “the magic potion”.

Soon enough though, I realized that there were no products out there dedicated to the complete and ultimate love of this enchanting spice and set about to change that and that's how Cardamom Creations was born. I guess one might ask “why create a whole product line centered on one ingredient?” Well to put it quite simply, everything tastes better with a little Cardamom!

It is Cardamom Creations mission to bring to the forefront this lesser known spice and share its magical properties with all food lovers.
